Aggstein Castle

In-between Autumn and Winter, mixed with glistening snowy treetops and autumnal rich shades, we made our way to castle Aggstein, located on the right bank of the Danube in the Wachau (Lower Austria). Plus they had a little Christmas market so we just had to visit to get into the spirit.
A lot of other people had the same thought and visited this ruined castle... Although it was pretty packed, the delicious food and the view on the very top of the castle made up for our impatience of waiting in line or winding our way through the mass of people.

Every corner smelled of a different type of food, as you entered the market you could smell a stinky mature cheese but as you continued to walk on a sweet almond and sugary smell hits you. This is the feeling of a Christmas market! Full of different senses, food, music and just having a good time whilst sipping on some mulled wine to warm up in the cold crisp air.

Wrapped up in a thick winter jacket, hat, scarf, gloves and over knee boots I enjoyed this impeccable view this season has drawn.
